I have been designing and hand crafting custom furniture for 25 years. My knowledge of Early Antiques and Modern furniture, has enabled me to design and build anything. While I was attending a 4 year college, I started a business with my parents and older sister. We started a small Grandfather clock company called Vermont Clock Co. and a furniture business specializing in Shaker Furniture. An affinity for quality, fine woods, historic joinery and working with clients, makes this a passion of mine for more than 28 years. I specialize in handcrafted Shaker, Traditional, Mid-Century and Modern Furniture. all projects are designed with client then drawn using AutoCAD, final approval from client before project is started in the shop. I handcraft projects from premium lumber and veneered woods. I can also take it to the next step and buy “Matched Set” lumber which means your project, whether it is a table or a hutch, is made from wood from the same tree, ensuring exceptional grain and color match.
I moved from Vermont full time in 2019. The first thing I did was build a workshop between Lewisburg and Franklin Tennessee, about 39 miles due south of Nashville. My shop address is 3701 Franklin Pike, Lewisburg, TN 37091, call for appointment. (931)981-1171
In September of 2020, my dad and best friend passed away from Colon Cancer. We are all real proud of him, he fought it for 8 years and lived a full life up to the end. I owe my knowledge of proportion, style and form to my dad and my mother, who were antique dealers and furniture makers.

I made this Credenza from local Walnut to TN, I make this in other configurations. Door has an aluminum handle or wood handle. This handle on this door is not my standard design, it is a client’s request. Special requests accepted.
I made this Shaker inspired Hutch from Cherry. Mortise and tenon and Dovetailed Drawers.
I love this piece I made. I modeled it from three different antique Sugar Chests.
I made this bed from Premium Cherry. Notice the heavy 1-3/4” thick rails and the 2-3/4” thick square posts. Bed bolted rails and Brass bed bolt covers make this an exceptional bed. It is made for a boxspring and mattress, other bed styles are welcome. i have made probably 100 beds.
Made for Matt and his Family in GA. This table was a fun project, shaping a large Urn Post with double tenons, snuggly fitting into mortises on the shoe foot and top cleat.
My workshop at 3701 Franklin Pike, Lewisburg TN or RTE 431 Will be painting and finishing trim next!

About Me
MY NAME IS Michael
My appreciation for quality furniture began at a young age. My parents were antique dealers and also restored antiques. I owe my early appreciation of Period Furniture to my parents. My career, as a Master Craftsperson and Designer, began, after I graduated with a degree in Art History and Studio Art. As a family we developed Vermont Clock Co. and McGuire Family Furniture Makers. When I’m not working, I enjoy kayaking or anything outdoors, playing with my mother’s dog and now my dog “Gus”, and visiting with family and friends.
